Your Child's Safety at Mealtimes isOur
Absolute Priority
We take allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements extremely seriously. Before your child starts at Snuggly Ducklings, we collect detailed information about any dietary needs, allergies and intolerances. This information is shared with all staff involved in preparing and handling food. We develop personalised allergy action plans for every child who needs one.
All staff are trained to recognise symptoms of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. Please let us know about any dietary requirements at registration — we will always find a safe, delicious solution.
Safer Eating Statement
During mealtimes, a member of staff holding a current Paediatric First Aid certificate is always present. Children are always within sight and hearing of staff while eating. Our team are trained to prevent and respond to choking incidents safely and calmly.
Weaning & Baby Nutrition
For our youngest children in the Hatchlings Room, we work closely with parents to understand the stage their child is at with introducing solid foods. We never assume based on age — we prepare food in a way that is right for each individual child's developmental needs, supporting their journey from milk feeds to first foods and beyond, at a pace that is right for them and in partnership with their family.
